Privacy Policy

Last updated: 23 October 2026

This policy explains how The Project Darts ("we", "us") collects and uses your personal data when you join the Laddr waitlist or use the Laddr app. We are a volunteer-run project based in the United Kingdom, and we handle personal data in line with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.

Who is responsible for your data

The Project Darts is the controller of your personal data. You can contact us at theprojectdarts@gmail.com.

What we collect

When you join the waitlist we collect:

  • your name and email address;
  • whether you want to join as a mentee or a mentor;
  • your university or workplace;
  • the date and time you signed up, and your consent to this policy.

When you use the Laddr app, we also collect the profile, matching, messaging and session details you choose to provide. We will update this policy with more detail before the app launches.

How we use it

  • to contact you about Laddr's launch and give you early access;
  • to plan our mentoring programme, for example how many mentors and mentees are interested;
  • to provide the Laddr app and match you with mentors or mentees once it launches.

Our lawful basis for the waitlist is your consent. We do not sell your data or use it for advertising.

Where it is stored

Waitlist sign-ups are stored in Google Workspace (Google Sheets), which processes data on our behalf. App data is stored with Amazon Web Services in the London region. Only members of The Project Darts team who need it can access your data.

How long we keep it

We keep waitlist details until 12 months after Laddr launches, or until you ask us to delete them, whichever comes first.

Your rights

You can ask to access, correct or delete your data, or withdraw your consent at any time, by emailing theprojectdarts@gmail.com. Withdrawing consent does not affect anything we did before you withdrew it.

If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy, for example when the app launches. We will change the date at the top and, for significant changes, let you know by email.
